FAQ

Activists

Can I hire Subject PR to do my publicity?

You can, but you shouldn't. Unlike actors with their own PR teams, the activist industry isn't ready for that yet. Join Intersection(AL)™ and help us build it. If you do well enough, your favorite nonprofit will pay us to do PR for you.

I don't live in Los Angeles, but I want to be involved, what can I do?

Aside from engaging with us on social media (@subjectpr on all platforms), you can also join our waitlist to be among the first notified if/when we expand to your area.

Do you offer a free trial for the network?

We do not. We use monthly payments with no time commitment or hidden fees to lessen the financial risk.

My [personal connection] isn't an activist, but I want them to join. Can they?

No. Our network is exclusively for people who are at least slacktivists. We are not here to change people. We're here to help the changed.

Nonprofits

Can you give us a quote on just the services we need?

We cannot. In order to keep things simple and effective, our rates are non-negotiable, and we do not offer à la carte services.

Can you send us your pitch deck?

As our services are outlined in full on our website (here), we only send tailored proposals after receiving an exclusive RFP or an informal outline of the campaign scope and expectations.

Are you interested in/available for joining us for one of our programs?

We are not. At Subject PR part of our mission is to end the work/volunteer dichotomy. Although we do work pro bono occassionally, we do not join program related efforts in any capacity beyond consulting.

Will you amplify our PSA/Campaign to your network?

Regardless of how important or urgent the cause, we only amplify messaging from our Full Service clients. To rally our activists, have members of your PR team join our network and become trusted voices in the space. For memberships you can email us here.

Brands

Does Subject PR offer any advertisement opportunities anywhere?

No. We beleive brand awareness is best earned via community involvement. If you want Subject's involvement, please have your PR team email us here.

How do we send products to your activists as part of our PR campaign?

If your brand meets our ethical standards, you have two options: 1. Have people from your PR team (not marketers) join our network and find the activists they would like to send product to. Ask them if they want product with no strings attached. 2. Supply your products as a reward for our Challenges. Both start with by emailing us here.

Can we send products to Subject PR?

Yes. If you chose option 2 in the question above, you may send items directly to Subject PR. You may also send products to us like you would a magazine: for the chance at being included in our SubStandard™ content. For more information, use the link in the question above.

We don't have a PR person or team, can we still join your network?

Perhaps. We will ask you to share your understanding of how PR differs from marketing, record your answer, and expect you to stick to it (provided it's good enough). Failure to do so will get your people and company blacklisted. You can email us about this here.
